Very early on, thanks to our work with leading firms on R&D/technological assets valuation and financing over a period of 10 years, we identified the size of funding needed in R&D for developed countries and that

• public budgets would not be sufficent
• European R&D had very strong economic potential
• institutional investors are the major financing source available to fund the long term
• science and technology assets  are a large scale opportunity for both long term investors and academic or corporate research centres
