Joined Alta Berkeley, a pioneer European venture capital firm, in 1985 and actively involved in all of Alta Berkeley funds over a 38 year period, including fund raising, structuring funds and investments, legal and tax aspects and reporting to institutional investors.
As a Partner, COO/CFO & member of the investment committee of Alta Berkeley, Hugh has been involved directly in the structuring and raising of 5 institutional funds, investor relations, and the management of Alta Berkeley’s own business, including direct responsibility for all regulatory aspects.
Within the firm, Hugh has also been involved in the execution of venture capital transactions both on investments and exits in EU, USA and Israel – in excess of 100 initial investment transactions, 60 M&A transactions and 20 IPOs on both sides of the Atlantic. He has acted as a Board member of many portfolio companies.
